Carla Crummett

I am originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. I moved to Orlando to pursue a dream to perform at Walt Disney World. It was there that I met my husband of 23 years. We have 3 awesome kids!  They are very involved in the sports and keep us very busy.

I came to UCELC as a parent with my son. He attended pre-k here and I served as a volunteer. I had never wanted to be a part of something so badly as when my child attended pre-k. I applied for a position and I am now in my 11th year.   I still truly enjoy every minute of it!

I actually have the greatest joy watching these little guys grow throughout the program.  I have had the blessing of being a part of their families for their preschool years and beyond.  I hope to always leave a little spot in their heart as they will be a part of mine forever!

I was born in Connecticut, and moved to Florida as a young child. I've recently moved back after living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. I love the beaches and sunshine and year-round living! I've been married to Mark, a Jamaican native, for 20 years. We have two energetic children, Carson and Chloe, who attend East River High and are active on the swim team and water polo. I am excited to join UCELC as an assistant teacher. I enjoy the positive learning environment UCELC provides to your child as well the wonderful teachers. I look forward to growing with your child this year and am excited to explore their unique personalities!

Hello! My name is Sara Kennedy and Early Childhood is my passion!  I was born and raised in Rockford, IL but headed west for warmer weather during my college years. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Studies and a Master’s in Teaching and Teacher Education, both at the University of Arizona. From there I moved to California and started teaching Kindergarten.  I also taught Kindergarten once I moved here to Florida.

As for my family, my husband and I have 3 children, who have all attended UCELC.  We absolutely love the Christian, family-like environment this school provides, and we attend the church, as well.

Along with teaching here at UCELC, I am also a professor at Kaplan University, where I teach Early Childhood courses online.  I also earned a Graduate Certificate in Literacy and Language Teaching K-6 from Kaplan. I have enjoyed preparing others for Early Childhood careers and am so excited to be back in the physical classroom setting, as well!  My philosophy of teaching is based on creating a student-centered environment in which children feel safe and valued and in which they enjoy the process of learning through play. I look forward to all that God has in store for me working at UCELC!

I grew up in Connecticut, but moved to South Carolina after high school, where I met and married my husband. We have two children, Jake and Maggie. While my kids were preschool age, we lived in Jacksonville, FL. I fell in love with their school and teachers, and was blessed to be hired on staff at their school as a classroom assistant for over 2 years, until we moved to Orlando in 2010.

Since moving to Orlando, I have been a busy stay at home mom, and helping to plant a church. As my kids have grown older I've felt the itch to get back into teaching preschool again. I consider myself very blessed to have found UCELC and become part of the staff of this special school.

I was born in Plymouth, England and have been blessed with two wonderful children who are now in middle and high school. I have a degree in early childhood education. I worked as an early years teacher in the public schools in the U.K for ten years. I moved to Orlando in 1999 because of my husband’s work. In 2004, I became a lead teacher at St. Stephen Weekday School, a Christian school, in East Orlando. I taught the three year olds, and the VPK program for four year olds there until recently.

This will be my first year at UCELC and I am excited to be a staff member at this great school. I feel privileged to be working with your children and look forward to watching them learn and develop over the school year.

I moved to Orlando over 18 years ago when I met and fell in love with my husband while on the College Program at Disney. I transferred to the University of Central Florida where I earned my bachelors degree and began my dream career as a teacher. During my years in OCPS, I had the privilege of teaching grades k-3 including a special needs class in addition to being the extended day coordinator. Then God blessed me with 4 wonderful children and my career was placed on pause. As my children grew and started attending UCELC, I began volunteering at the preschool. The more I volunteered the more I became part of the UCELC family and revisited the joy that comes from working with children. Today, I am thrilled to be a member of the staff here and look forward to sharing with you and your family what makes our school so special.

I was born in New York but moved to Florida 1992 where I met my husband (who is also a native New Yorker).
I spent 16 years working in the defense industry for Grumman Corporation until my son was born.  A few years later my daughter was born and I knew my focus had changed and I was ready for a new career.
We joined the church and enrolled our children at UCELC.  The dedication and devotion of the staff led me to join as a 2 year old support teacher.  I continued as a support in the 2,3 and 4 year old classrooms until 2006. I left for a year to substitute in the Orange County Public school system.
I was lucky enough to rejoin UCELC in 2007.  I returned as a VPK lead teacher.  I have been here for 11 years now and I love spending time with the children in such a special place.

I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and moved to Oviedo two years ago. My husband’s job transferred our family here. We have two wonderful children, a little girl and boy. I have a bachelor degree in Psychology. After I graduated I decided to stay home with my children. I taught in preschool for three years while my children attended. When we moved here I was looking forward to teaching again. I am excited to join UCELC and work with your children. This is what I love to do and know this will be a great year!

I am a Florida native who has lived in Orlando since 2001. I am married and have two fantastic daughters. I graduated from University of South Alabama and worked briefly as a Child Protective Services Counselor for DCF before becoming a stay-at-home-mother. After my youngest was school age, I became a preschool teacher and over the years I have worked with 2s, 3s, and 4s. I love watching little brains grow and develop. This will be my first year at UCELC and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to teach in a family-oriented, Christian environment. I am looking forward to the journey this year will bring.

I am an only child who was raised by my grandparents in a small town called Christmas, Florida

After my twentieth birthday I met a wonderful man. His name is Sean and was in the United States Navy and now we have four wonderful children.

My youngest children started at UCELC. I did a lot of volunteer work and really enjoyed being around the children and the school. My son’s last year I began to work as a substitute support and the following year I moved into a full time position.

I feel that God had plans for me to be in this school and to be with these wonderful families. I’ve been here several years and hope to continue on for many more. I can’t see myself being any other place.
